Ditch the Gloves to get the Girl
So as you have all probaby guessed I workout fairly regularly. I prefer to use free weights as opposed to machines as I believe they give you a better over all workout beacuse they incorporate all of your smaller connector muscles.
Well as a result of being a free weight user there is a lot of wear and tear on my hands. All of the bars and dumbbells you find at a gym will have grips carved into the metal that can really wreak havoc on your hands. Well a lot of guys will wear those fingerless gloves to stop their hands from getting calluses and causing the skin to toughen up. I don’t wear gloves I think they are kinda stupid looking and pointless but whatever thats just my opinion.
Anyhow the point of this post is that recently I went out to dinner with my roommates sister and during dinner she noticed I was rubbing my hands where I have some small calluses from the gym. She asked why I had calluses on my hands (she knows I’m a geek and not a construction worker or anything) and I told her they were from working out and sorry if it grossed her out.
Much to my shock she disagreed! She said that some girls find them sexy on a guy if they are as a result form working out.
Total shocker!
So girls…… is this true or is she just crazy? Is it sexy if a guy has calluses on his hands from working out?
Mind you mine are not enormous or gross or anything they are just small calluses at the base of my fingers where the dumbbell bars rub.

It’s totally cool! Then again I am not self-conscious about what anyone thinks of me when I go to the gym.. And YES, I wear the gloves because I want to protect my hands and I could care less of the guys or girls think I’m “cool”. I have people coming up to me asking how I got to look so great in shape, since I weight train 5 days a week and run 30 miles a week. So men out there, women don’t care and won’t make fun of you if they are maybe they should hit the gym and quite complaining so darn much.
